Barking Sands PMRF’s five instrument approach charts serve both ends of runway 16/34, rather than leaving one direction without a published approach. Two of those procedures are RNAV (GPS). With only one 6,002 ft asphalt runway, all approach coverage ultimately centres on the same strip; there is no second runway alignment within the airport’s configuration.
The Hawaiian Islands Sectional supplies the wider VFR context absent from the terminal procedures and airport diagram, placing the field within the surrounding island aeronautical picture. Lihue, 25 nm east, has 15 published charts compared with nine at Barking Sands PMRF, so its procedure set is broader overall.
