Stanford/Biggerstaff Field’s instrument provision is narrow but balanced: two RNAV (GPS) procedures serve two runway ends rather than concentrating coverage on one end. The runway choices are markedly unequal. The 4,200 ft asphalt 12/30 is 2,600 ft longer than the 1,600 ft turf 07/25, leaving the shorter alignment usable by a narrower range of aircraft.
Chart coverage at KHWQ and 79S is equally thin, while 7S6 and KLWT have only modestly broader sets. KGTF stands apart with substantially more published procedures. The Billings and Great Falls sectionals complement the compact instrument set with broader VFR planning context around the field.
