FSX / P3D

San Jose Del Cabo

San Jose del Cabo International Airport (MMSD) gets a traffic-ready layout update for FSX, expanding the apron to suit busy scheduled operations while adding airport vehicle routes and refining the perimeter fence to match the terminal area. The file also swaps an out-of-place hangar for a generic terminal and provides cargo and GA ramp parking.

San Jose Del Cabo (Cabo San Lucas), Mexico (MMSD). Features enlarged apron, airport vehicle routes, realigned perimeter fences, incorrect hangar replaced with terminal. By Eric Hansen.

This AFCAD file is for MMSD - San Jose Del Cabo, better known as Cabo San Lucas. The default AFCAD was too small for the substantial scheduled traffic in and out of this airport. The following work has been done:

  • Apron (tarmac) enlarged.
  • Airport vehicle routes added.
  • Perimeter fence realigned. It now meets at the terminal buildings instead of going around them.
  • Incongruous heavy maintenance hanger removed and replaced by generic terminal building. There has been no attempt at any realistic reproduction.
  • Fuel pumps and fuel parking space has been removed.

Because MMSD is a small airport without jetways, there are no gate assignments for airlines. The airport still looks bleak without any surrounding buildings or roads, but should have enough space so that AI scheduled aircraft can park up to the B752 for US Airways. There is also a cargo space and three ramp GA spaces.

How to install this mod

FSX / P3D add-on
  1. Extract the downloaded archive

Use 7-Zip (free) or WinRAR to extract the ZIP to a temporary folder. Don't install while still zipped — the simulator can't read inside ZIP files.
  2. Place files per the readme

Most FSX add-ons go into one of: SimObjects\Airplanes\, Addon Scenery\, Effects\, or Gauges\.
  3. Always read the included readme

Every mod ships with a readme.txt or README file. It tells you exactly where files go, what dependencies are needed, and any quirks specific to this add-on.
