This is the Project Open Sky B737-700 rendered as a C40A in a fictional US Marines paint scheme. Even though the US Navy is replacing its fleet of C-9Bs with the new Boeing C-40A, the USMC has no plans in the near future to replace its two C-9Bs operated by VMR-1. So whenever it does this is perhaps what they would look like. This is the whole POSKY aircraft with a functional VC. This includes the upgraded B737 VC by Alejandro Rojas Lucena. By John Detrick.

I used the Southwest Airlines 737-700 pack by Kevin McDermott as the base.

Installation:

There are Two files. The first one is to install the New Cockpit. The other is for reverse - and put back the original files in the case you don't want it. However, I would advise you to make a copy of the entire B737-800 folder and save it save it to a safe folder anywhere. (Back up all original files!). This will allow you to get your original 737 back without any problems, in case my "revert" file isn't enough.

Important Notes:

GPWS - This new cockpit includes a GPWS system. I have noticed that the gauges of the GPWS cause a crash to desktop when you try to end the flight, or when you try to quit FSX, or even when you try to choose another aircraft. However, the airplane and the GPWS works well inside FSX, even if you navigate through menus for weather or map or stuff like that, so you won't get any issue during a normal flight. Nevertheless, if this problem is too bothering for you, you can simply remove th GPWS gauges from the panel folder of the 737, this will solve it.

Lights effect problem - I have modified a lot of switches in the entire cockpit to make them usable, unfortunately some of the lights like Navigation, Wing Lights, Logo Light and especially Taxi Light, seem to be defined in the EXTERIOR model of the 737-800, so I could not make them work. Wing lights and other lights situated on the wings cannot be added in the aircraft.cfg, because of the Wing Flex animation. If I had the exterior model, that would have been easy to fix...

Problems I am having with the aircraft: VS must be manually set on change of altitude, otherwise just sits there at 0 No wipers or auto brake, panel lights Can't figure how to get the call sign right, i.e. "Marine 046" Flight director is odd - on takeoff, wants a level attitude rather than a climb Looking for some hints.

Gerry.
