FSX Fokker 50 New Standard Panel

This freeware modification introduces an updated cockpit environment for the widely recognized Fokker 50 aircraft, featuring enhanced compatibility with modern display resolutions and optional navigation systems. It has been created by Emile Lancee and is intended for simmers who already own the payware Fokker 50 package from Precisionaerobus. This modification does not include any proprietary gauges from the original product. Instead, it provides revised configuration files that overwrite existing data in the base installation. The changes include a choice between a Delco Carousel system and a Bendix/King unit for navigation control. The following paragraphs outline all key features offered by this new standard panel.

Panel Configuration Adjustments

The panel layout has been meticulously adapted to suit broad-format displays, ensuring more comprehensive visibility. One notable enhancement is the single-screen captain's panel that aligns optimally with wide-resolution monitors. This layout also offers convenient switching to the first officer’s perspective, expanding the operational vantage. Furthermore, there is an option to display lighting controls on the lower part of the overhead section, making it faster to access exterior lighting switches.

Navigation System Choices

The add-on provides two distinct navigation management setups. Simmers may opt for a Delco Carousel Inertial Navigation System if they prefer a solution often employed on military transports, or they can install the Bendix/King Honeywell system typically used by commercial operators. Whichever unit is selected, it integrates smoothly into the main panel and pedestal layout, promoting efficient route planning and en-route adjustments.

• Refined pedestal panel: Centrally locates the navigation control units and audio management section for expedited reference during flight.
• All-new pop-up radio and navigation console: Groups key radio functions, audio controls, and navigation readouts into one undockable panel.
• Enhanced 2D and VC cockpit integration: Presents a mouse-sensitive navigation readout that can be opened as a separate display, along with a reworked Central Annunciation Panel ensuring doors are easily monitored and managed.

This project relies on the original payware Fokker 50 from Precisionaerobus for complete functionality. Precisionaerobus gauges are excluded from this package, so they must already reside in the simulator. Once installed, these revised files will seamlessly overwrite the existing ones, providing a refreshed flight deck experience.
