BMA Viscount 814, second livery. Seen in the second livery worn by the type, G-AWXI was one of a motley collection of Vickers Viscounts operated by British Midland at the end of the sixties. Later these were replaced by a fleet of series 813 and 814 aircraft. Being a series 814 'XI would have been at home in the later fleet but was written off after an engine fire on takeoff from Heathrow. Although the fire was quickly extinguished and the aircraft remained intact the wing was deemed damaged beyond repair and she was stripped for spares. The nose still exists, underwater, in a quarry used as a diving center. Requires the FSDS Viscount 800 model by Rick Piper. By Garry Russell.
