FS2004 Independent Air Transport Viking 1B G-AJCE

Independent Air Transport’s Vickers Viking 1B G-AJCE livery recreates the airline’s 1956–1959 operations with period-accurate markings and registration detail for FS2004. Ideal for classic British charter and regional routes, it brings a convincing mid-century look to the virtual cockpit and requires the FSDS Viking model by Rick Piper.

Independent Air Travel/Transport was one of the longer lasting independents operating Vickers Vikings. Started in 1953 with an Anson then Doves it bought its first Vikings in 1956 and changed the name to Independent Air Transport. The Viking fleet built up until DC-4s started to take over some routes. After a downturn in fortunes it struggled through the 1959 season and closed at the end of October. This aircraft joined the airline in February 1956 and stayed until the end before passing to Continental and then Overseas with whom it was damaged beyond repair landing at Lyon 14-08-61. Requires the FSDS Viking model by Rick Piper. Repaint by Garry Russell.
