FSX SAA Boeing 747-400 ZS-SAZ

South African Airways livery for the default Boeing 747-400 brings ZS-SAZ “IMONTI” to life with authentic markings, registration, and Springbok ATC callsign details for a convincing classic SAA heavy. Designed for Microsoft Flight Simulator X, it requires the stock 747-400 model and includes the needed aircraft.cfg entry for proper selection.

Flight Simulator X Prepar3D

A repaint of the default B747-400 in South African Airways colors. The aircraft is ZS-SAZ which goes by the name "IMONTI". With the way in which FSX renders the .dds files it is not possible to make the winglets better. By Peter Tredre.

  • Copy the "texture.saa" file into the "B747_400" directory. This directory should be as follows if a standard installation of FSX has been done:
    "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\SimObjects\Airplanes\B747_400"
  • In the same directory as above, open the "aircraft.cfg" file using a word processor, I use wordpad.
  • Add the following script to the bottom of the file, noting that the ".xxx" in the line [fltsim.XXX] of the additional script must be the next fltsim number.
  • In the case of a standard installation replace [fltsim.XXX] with [fltsim.7]. Save the file.

How to install this mod

FSX / P3D aircraft
  1. Extract the downloaded archive

Use 7-Zip (free) or WinRAR to extract the ZIP to a temporary folder. Don't install while still zipped — the simulator can't read inside ZIP files.
  2. Copy aircraft files into SimObjects

Place the aircraft folder inside FSX\SimObjects\Airplanes\. The folder must contain an aircraft.cfg file. Effects go into FSX\Effects\; gauges go into FSX\Gauges\.
  3. Verify in FSX

Launch FSX, go to Free Flight → Select Aircraft and find your new aircraft under its manufacturer.
  4. Always read the included readme

Every mod ships with a readme.txt or README file. It tells you exactly where files go, what dependencies are needed, and any quirks specific to this add-on.
