FSX Remove Cockpit Reflections

Clear cockpit windows replace the glossy, mirrored look by removing reflection textures from default aircraft virtual cockpit interiors in Microsoft Flight Simulator X. The package supplies edited DDS cockpit textures for multiple stock planes, restoring a cleaner view through the windshield and side panels while keeping the original cockpit artwork and lighting intact.

Flight Simulator X Prepar3D

Files to remove cockpit reflections in default FSX aircraft. Included in this zip file are the default cockpit texture files edited to remove the reflections in the VC. By John Standard.

First back up your existing cockpit files. They can be found in /Program Files/Microsoft Games/Flight Simulator X/Simobjects/Airplanes/"Aircraft Name"/Texture/Aircraftname_reflection.dds. After backing up these files, replace them with the corresponding files found in this zip file.

Load up FSX and enjoy your new perfectly clear windows.

How to install this mod

FSX / P3D panel / gauge

Extract the downloaded archive

Use 7-Zip (free) or WinRAR to extract the ZIP to a temporary folder. Don't install while still zipped — the simulator can't read inside ZIP files.
Place panel files

Panel files go inside FSX\SimObjects\Airplanes\{aircraft}\panel\. Back up the existing panel folder first.
