Flight Simulator X Prepar3D

This freeware add-on introduces a demanding IFR route designed for high-speed, low-altitude military-style operations. Developed for Microsoft Flight Simulator X, it covers a diverse environment spanning California and Nevada, showcasing tight valleys and broad plateaus that challenge any virtual pilot seeking precision and realism.

Varied Topography for Tactical Maneuvers

The flight plan directs you across rugged mountain ranges and expansive flatlands, making it particularly engaging for those who appreciate detailed elevation changes. While originally tailored toward bomber and fighter aircraft, such as the B-52 or B-1B, pilots can choose any airframe to master these dynamic transitions between steep slopes and open terrain.

Essential Gauges by Karol Chlebowski

To enhance guidance throughout this training corridor, two sophisticated gauges by Karol Chlebowski are included. Each gauge serves a distinct purpose:

  • [TFR Flying] (Terrain Following Radar): Automates altitude adjustments to maintain a constant ground clearance, which is particularly valuable when traversing mountainous areas at high velocity.
  • Pave Tack: A robust toolkit for bombing runs, reconnaissance, and navigational aids. It incorporates advanced targeting features that facilitate precise air-to-ground operations.

Utilizing these instruments unlocks more realistic flight experiences, especially when combined with the low-level flight corridors present in this route.

Optional Mini Panel v2.1 Upgrade

Additionally, there is an opportunity to install mini panel v2.1 from Bill McClellan, which incorporates all the core functionalities of the included gauges and extends features for comprehensive mission planning. Its modular design allows quick engagement of systems like bomb deployment, terrain assessment, or route tracking for uninterrupted focus on navigating complex airspaces.

Ideal for Military Enthusiasts

Besides the well-known bombers such as the F-111, B-2, or A4, this route suits all who want to test their skills in a high-tempo environment. The flight plan’s structure and recommended altitudes push aircrews to maximize situational awareness, which brings authenticity to military-themed simulations.

Tactical Emphasis
Pilots can practice low-level weaving through natural barriers, reinforcing the core fundamentals of terrain-aware flying.
Realism and Immersion
By integrating advanced avionics and route details, the entire mission achieves a greater sense of plausibility and engagement.
