Blue User Interface Replacement refreshes Flight Simulator X with a clean, modern theme across most dialogs, icons, and menu graphics, giving Free Flight and Multiplayer a sharper, more cohesive look. New design changes almost all dialogs, icons and graphics. It should deliver better looking, clean and modern user interface. There are only a few things I decided to left unchanged and those are Missions and Learning Center tab. I believe that majority of flight simmers are using Free Flight or Multiplayer only, so I didn't want to spend another hours redesigning those parts. And they blend together with the new theme pretty well, since old theme was white/blue too. There are also some elements I couldn't manage to find so I left them unchanged. I have included a new FSX shortcut icon that matches UI theme. Tested with FSX Acceleration pack.

How to install this mod

FSX / P3D add-on

  1. Extract the downloaded archive

    Use 7-Zip (free) or WinRAR to extract the ZIP to a temporary folder. Don't install while still zipped — the simulator can't read inside ZIP files.

  2. Place files per the readme

    Most FSX add-ons go into one of: SimObjects\Airplanes\, Addon Scenery\, Effects\, or Gauges\.

  3. Always read the included readme

    Every mod ships with a readme.txt or README file. It tells you exactly where files go, what dependencies are needed, and any quirks specific to this add-on.

    i love the new icon. however, the aircraft preview background needs improvement. also, some buttons like the quit and minimize buttons' edges are stuck together while some are not, which looks not very nice. u can probably make it look like a win8 default window. anyway, thanks for making this

    How do you bring up the toolbar within fsx? normally the ALT key displays and hides the toolbar, but now you can't use it...
