Grumman G-164C KingCat brings Mid-Continent’s Super Ag Cat conversion to FSX with a 1,200 hp Wright R-1820 radial, two tuned variants for aerobatics or bush work, and a practical virtual cockpit supported by pop-up panels for full engine management. Included liveries mix believable fiction with real-world tail numbers for authentic ramp variety.
This package is the last in the range of AgCat modifications. It includes after-market conversion of the Super Ag Cat C/600, made by Mid-Continent Aircraft Corp. The 600 hp (450 kW) Pratt and Whitney R-1340 engine was replaced with a Wright R-1820-202A radial engine that produces 1,200 hp (895 kW). There are two options in the package - for aerobatics (it is lighter and with aerobatic carburetor) and bush flying. All liveries - fictional, tail numbers - real (two of which belong to G-164C planes with R-1820 engine). So, take your place in the cabin and meet the challenge. By Vladimir Gonchar.

Engine: Wright R-1820-G202A radial engine that produces 1,200 hp (895 kW). Fuel 90 min. grade aviation gasoline. Engine limits Maximum continuous (Sea level) or 43.0 in. Hg, 2400 rpm (1100 hp). Straight line manifold pressure variation with altitude to 5500 ft.: 40.0 in. Hg, 2400 rpm (1100 hp). Take-off (one minute): 45.5 in. Hg, 2500 rpm (1200 hp)

Engine Start-Up Procedure:
(you can use Ctrl+E key combination for a Quick Start or the following step-by-step realistic procedure):
Fuel control - ON
Mixture - FULL RICH
Props - FULL FORWARD
Throttle - OPEN 1/4 INCH
Carb. heat - OFF
Master switch - ON
Before using ignition switch and starter button you need to raise pressure in a fuel supply system. You can do it using a regular manual pump (8 to 10 strokes, "Low fuel pressure" warning lamp must get off) of by electrical boost pump, which I added optionaly. The package include two panel options: with or without boost pump. In any way you will not start the engine if the fuel pressure needle does not reach the lower edge of the respective green arc (3 psi).
Primer - AS REQUIRED (if CHT is lower than 50 degrees C; when 50 or above, no prime necessary)
Ignition switch - ON BOTH
Starter - PRESS (release when started)
In case you use electrical boost pump - OFF (when engine starts)
Oil pressure - CHECK
Details:
Due to the original design limitations the VC has only few clickable areas (see enclosed VC and pop-up panels.bmp), so I made additional pop-up panels for full control. Precisely, the ECU in the original VC has throttle and mixture levers only, so as a standard model is equipped with a constant speed propeller I added 2D EDU with a prop lever. Water rudders of the original model were programmed as retractable gears and did not work actually as water rudders. So to convert them from dummies to actual water rudders I changed the aircraft configuration file and made them steerable. But now they are un-retractable and always fixed in down position. The default load configuration for aerobatic plane - a pilot only, for bush plane - a pilot, two passengers and 100 kg of baggage.

For more interesting flying I recommend you to download and install a nice airfield - Orillia (CNJ4) at the bank of Lake St. John (Ontario, Canada). There's also a aparking place for floatplanes there. If you do you can use enclosed file to start your flight from that place.
