Flight Simulator X Prepar3D

This repaint showcases the inaugural Lockheed L-1011 TriStar, registered N1011, specifically designed for use with Microsoft Flight Simulator X. Created by Corina Meyer, it presents the original prototype livery in all its historic detail. This texture package requires the payware L-1011 from Captain Sim and does not include the base model. Below, you will find technical insights on Lockheed’s TriStar along with instructions on integrating this repaint into your simulator.

Lockheed’s Advanced Wide-Body Vision

The Lockheed L-1011 TriStar introduced several technological innovations when it first took to the skies in the early 1970s. As a three-engine wide-body aircraft, the TriStar incorporated a distinctive S-duct configuration for the center engine and featured an advanced autopilot system capable of performing sophisticated maneuvers. Lockheed’s focus on pilot-friendly controls and its unique mid-mounted engine design allowed the L-1011 series to stand out among other long-range aircraft of its era.

Highlighting the Prototype Livery

This repaint replicates Lockheed’s prototype scheme for the TriStar, complete with authentic markings and the registration number N1011. The design captures the aircraft’s original test-flight appearance, paying homage to Lockheed’s engineering legacy. Since it was the first TriStar airframe, the prototype boasted a dynamic combination of performance evaluations and technological demonstrations, contributing significantly to the development of subsequent production variants.
