Yes—MSFS 2024 supports liveries on PS5. Learn where to get them, how to install them, why PC ZIP files do not work, and fix missing paints.
Yes. You can get liveries in Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 on PS5 through the in-simulator Marketplace, aircraft packages and other console-supported content in your library. You cannot copy downloaded PC livery ZIP files to a PS5, because the console version has no user-accessible Community folder.
Where can PS5 players get MSFS liveries?
PS5 liveries come from content distributed for the console through MSFS 2024 itself. The main sources are:
- Liveries included with the base aircraft.
- Free or paid livery packs offered through the in-simulator Marketplace.
- Additional paint schemes bundled with a Marketplace aircraft.
- Liveries delivered as part of an official aircraft or content update.
Only Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 is available on PlayStation 5 and PS5 Pro. Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 was never released for PlayStation, so downloads labelled only for MSFS 2020 or its PC Community folder are not PS5-compatible.
How do you install liveries on MSFS 2024 for PS5?
Install PS5 liveries through the simulator's Marketplace and content-library interface, not through the PlayStation file system.
- Open the in-simulator Marketplace while signed in and connected to the internet. Our walkthrough of the MSFS 2024 Marketplace on PS5 covers purchasing, downloading and managing supported add-ons.
- Check the aircraft compatibility before acquiring a pack. A repaint for one developer's A320, 737 or other aircraft will not necessarily fit another developer's version of the same type.
- Claim or purchase the livery pack, then check your content library. Some packages install automatically; others must be downloaded or enabled there.
- Select the matching aircraft in the aircraft-selection screen and choose the paint scheme from its available liveries before starting the flight.
- Test it in Free Flight if it does not appear elsewhere. Career and activity modes may impose their own aircraft, ownership or customisation restrictions.
Can downloaded PC liveries be used on PS5?
No. PC liveries supplied as ZIP archives or Community-folder packages cannot be installed on PS5, even if they were made for MSFS 2024.
The console does not expose a Community folder, and copying the files to USB storage does not make them readable by the simulator. If the creator releases a separate console-supported edition through the Marketplace, that version can be used; the original PC package cannot. Our PC-versus-console livery installation explanation shows how the supported methods differ.
Why is an installed PS5 livery not showing?
A missing PS5 livery is usually caused by an aircraft mismatch, an incomplete download or looking in the wrong mode.
- Confirm the exact aircraft variant. Similar names do not mean packages share the same 3D model or texture layout.
- Check the installation state. Acquiring an item and downloading it can be separate actions.
- Install required aircraft updates. A livery may depend on a newer revision of its parent aircraft package.
- Remove active filters. Aircraft-selection and customisation screens can hide content through category or favourite filters.
- Fully close and restart MSFS 2024. Newly installed content may not populate an aircraft's livery list until the simulator reloads its library.
- Try Free Flight. If the paint appears there, the problem is a restriction of the activity or mode rather than a failed installation.
For housekeeping and console-specific limitations, see our explanation of the available in-simulator livery management options.
Do installed liveries also appear on AI traffic?
Not automatically. A livery installed for your flyable aircraft does not normally repaint live or AI traffic, which uses its own models and matching rules.
Multiplayer aircraft can also appear with a substitute model or generic paint when your console lacks the exact aircraft and livery package being used by the other player. On PS5, correcting that still requires compatible content distributed through the simulator rather than a PC traffic or livery mod.
