FSX Boeing 2707 SST Updated

Boeing’s unrealized 2707 SST arrives in FSX as a refreshed supersonic airliner package, featuring updated gauges for the 2D panel, a new basic virtual cockpit, and enhanced smoke effects for more convincing departures. Two included textures round out the classic prototype-era look while keeping the aircraft ready for modern sim flying.

The Boeing 2707 was intended to be the first American supersonic airliner, but increasing outcry over the environmental effects, notably the sonic boom, led to its cancelation in 1971 before the two prototypes had been completed. The package features FSX compatible gauges for the 2D panel, a new basic VC and new smoke effects. Included are two textures. Original model by Kazunori Ito, updated for FSX by Michael Pook.

Installation:

  • Copy the Boeing 2707 SST folder into your FSX/ Simobjects/ aircraft folder.
  • Copy the gauges in the gauges folder into your main FSX gauges folder and the smoke effect in the respective folder into your main FSX effects folder.

That's it, your done.

How to install this mod

FSX / P3D aircraft

  1. Extract the downloaded archive

    Use 7-Zip (free) or WinRAR to extract the ZIP to a temporary folder. Don't install while still zipped — the simulator can't read inside ZIP files.

  2. Copy aircraft files into SimObjects

    Place the aircraft folder inside FSX\SimObjects\Airplanes\. The folder must contain an aircraft.cfg file. Effects go into FSX\Effects\; gauges go into FSX\Gauges\.

  3. Verify in FSX

    Launch FSX, go to Free Flight → Select Aircraft and find your new aircraft under its manufacturer.

  4. Always read the included readme

    Every mod ships with a readme.txt or README file. It tells you exactly where files go, what dependencies are needed, and any quirks specific to this add-on.
