Detailed Installation Steps

  1. Extract Files: Unzip all contents of the downloaded archive into a temporary location.
  2. Gauge Placement: Place the included "Boeing777-300" gauge files into the Gauges directory of FSX, typically found at:
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\Gauges
  3. Legacy Gauge Support: Copy the "msvcr70.dll" file into the main FSX folder to ensure compatibility with older gauge formats. By default, that path is:
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X
  4. Panel Configuration: From the default Boeing 737-800 panel folder, move every item except the "panel.cfg" into the "POSKY 777-200ER GE 90-94B\panel.VC" folder. This transfer ensures proper cockpit functionality.
  5. Aircraft Folder Setup: Copy the entire "POSKY 777-200ER GE 90-94B" folder into your FSX Airplanes directory, typically accessible at:
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\SimObjects\Airplanes
  6. Effects: Move the files from the "Effects" directory provided with this package into the main FSX Effects folder. The default path is:
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\Effects

Additional Configuration Guidelines

Whenever you add new external liveries, remember to include a texture.cfg in the respective texture folder. This step ensures the upgraded cockpit textures function properly. In addition, copy the specifically supplied VC texture files into the Texture.VC location to replace any older ones, thereby keeping the cockpit environment consistent.

Utility Panel Integration

As a convenient feature, Paul Craig includes a small toggle icon on the 2D panel that allows you to display and hide the POSKY utility panel. This menu provides quick access to aircraft-specific features and configurations that enhance the realistic operation of the 777-200ER.

How to install this mod

FSX / P3D aircraft

  1. Extract the downloaded archive

    Use 7-Zip (free) or WinRAR to extract the ZIP to a temporary folder. Don't install while still zipped — the simulator can't read inside ZIP files.

  2. Copy aircraft files into SimObjects

    Place the aircraft folder inside FSX\SimObjects\Airplanes\. The folder must contain an aircraft.cfg file. Effects go into FSX\Effects\; gauges go into FSX\Gauges\.

  3. Verify in FSX

    Launch FSX, go to Free Flight → Select Aircraft and find your new aircraft under its manufacturer.

  4. Always read the included readme

    Every mod ships with a readme.txt or README file. It tells you exactly where files go, what dependencies are needed, and any quirks specific to this add-on.
