This freeware repaint showcases an Argentinian carrier's Boeing 737-200 ADV, registered as LV-ZXC, brought to life for FSX. It pays tribute to a classic short-to-medium range jet from an era when many airlines across South America relied on compact but dependable aircraft. This meticulously crafted livery captures the region’s aviation heritage, reflecting a balance of efficiency and robust airframe design. Developed by Philippe Tabatchnik for the FAIB model, it retains authentic visual elements while integrating seamlessly into modern simulator environments.

Visual Representation of a Vintage Workhorse

The Boeing 737-200 ADV (where “ADV” indicates Advanced features) served numerous airlines interested in improved thrust and better field performance. In this rendition, the Argentinian airline’s color scheme emphasizes a vibrant fuselage style once recognized at various airports. Within simulation, these textures enhance external contours, accurately depicting details such as the cockpit windows, engine intakes, and the signature nose shape commonly associated with the -200 series.

Integration with the FAIB Base Package

This add-on depends on the freeware FAIB 737-200 base model (FAIB_B7372.ZIP). Since the original aircraft platform is not included in this download, please ensure you have the required files already installed in your simulator’s “Aircraft” or “SimObjects” folder. The advanced geometry and flight dynamics provided by FAIB enhance authenticity, making this repaint highly adaptable for AI traffic or personal flight planning.

Guided Steps for Installing the Repaint

  • Place texture.sur zxc into the appropriate model folder designated by your simulator version. If unsure, reference the directory structure in the FAIB base package documentation.
  • Add the supplied [fltsim.x] entries into the aircraft.cfg file. Adjust the x to match your existing livery list, starting from zero (e.g., [fltsim.0]). Increment these entries without skipping or duplicating numbers.
  • Once incorporated, include this aircraft in your flight plans or AI scenario to see it in operation.

Practical Assignments and Usage

After setting up, assign it to routes that reflect short or mid-range hops characteristic of the Boeing 737-200 ADV’s operational history. Whether taxiing around smaller domestic terminals or mid-sized international fields, this repaint illustrates the airline’s unique branding for enthusiasts seeking an authentic regional fleet.

Created and refined by Philippe Tabatchnik, this texture set preserves heritage while embracing modern simulator standards. To complete your installation, be sure to download the required base model from the Fly Away Simulation mod library. This texture alone does not include the original flight dynamics or model files.

Requires dependencies

This add-on may require the following files to function properly. If this is a repaint, the dependency below is likely the base aircraft package.

How to install this mod

FSX / P3D aircraft
  1. Extract the downloaded archive

Use 7-Zip (free) or WinRAR to extract the ZIP to a temporary folder. Don't install while still zipped — the simulator can't read inside ZIP files.
  2. Copy aircraft files into SimObjects

Place the aircraft folder inside FSX\SimObjects\Airplanes\. The folder must contain an aircraft.cfg file. Effects go into FSX\Effects\; gauges go into FSX\Gauges\.
  3. Verify in FSX

Launch FSX, go to Free Flight → Select Aircraft and find your new aircraft under its manufacturer.
  4. Always read the included readme

Every mod ships with a readme.txt or README file. It tells you exactly where files go, what dependencies are needed, and any quirks specific to this add-on.
