Boscobel Aerodrome (MKBS), Jamaica. Not a representation of the Ian Fleming. This is the old MKBS before the renovation, which is much more challenging for landings, and handled more air traffic. FSX did no justice when it came to domestic airports in Jamaica so this at least upgrades one of them. Also included is a .bgl file for Ocho Rios, the most important tourist town served by MKBS. Though optional, SceneryTech North America 1.4 is recommended, as it completely changes Jamaican vegetation and this scenery blends in perfectly with it. Original work by Martin Erinin. I just upgraded it. By Chris Zoepound.
Screemshot of Boscobel Aerodrome.
An aerodrome I flew out of many times as a youth. Nobody (FSX or Third party) really seemed to take the time to make the aerodrome look presentable. So I messed around with an AFCAD I found. Gate 3 is exclusively dedicated to Air Jamaica Express (JMX), but you can change that using ADE, or adding in Air Jamaica Express and Timair AI traffic like I have.
Boscobel Aerodrome was known to serve the town of Ocho Rios, not replicated at all by SX, and the surrounding areas and resorts of the north Jamaican coast. So I added a few houses, mansions, hotels and flats. The real town doesn't have flats to what I know, but to stand out amongst the green landclass I had to use them. They look alright in my opinion.
MKBS is now known as the Ian Fleming International and has a longer runway and more paring space. I personally prefer the old Boscobel Aerodrome as it handled more traffic when JMX was around and it is more challenging to land on the shorter runway.
To install just place all .bgl files in MFSX/Addon Scenery/scenery and fire up.
I must recommend Scenery Tech Landclass North America 1.4. It completely changes the landclass of Jamaica from those horrible pines to those tropical jungle green clusters and this scenery merges in great with it.
