How to install this mod

FSX / P3D Repaint

  1. Extract the downloaded archive

    Use 7-Zip (free) or WinRAR to extract the ZIP to a temporary folder. Don't install while still zipped — the simulator can't read inside ZIP files.

  2. Add livery to base aircraft folder

    Place the texture folder (typically texture.{airline}) inside FSX\SimObjects\Airplanes\{base-aircraft}\.

  3. Update aircraft.cfg

    Open the base aircraft.cfg in Notepad. Add a new [fltsim.X] section per the readme.

  4. Always read the included readme

    Every mod ships with a readme.txt or README file. It tells you exactly where files go, what dependencies are needed, and any quirks specific to this add-on.

    I was H&HS Iwakuni avionics in 1968. Then the "Station Bird" was Bu No 50838. I was able to fly as backup crew chief and radio operator. We flew many Mar Log flights to Yokota and back.

    Most enjoyable was flying the permanent station guys and their wives to places like Hong Kong, Cubi Point, Taipei, Bangkok, Korea, Okinawa and other places.

    In 1974 and 1975 I was with H&MS-17, where we had four to six C-117s and three C-54s. At this time the Station Bird was 50835, which I made a few flights on. This C-117D Bu No 50835 is now on display at MCAS Miramar, San Diego.

    Loved those old birds. Even got to fly one once in a while. Best years of my 28.

    I crewed and worked in the Marine maintenance squadron of 835 pictured above in 1974. C-117D could fly forever.
