FSX USAF F-105 Thunderbirds

USAF Thunderbirds 1964 paint set brings the Republic F-105D Thunderchief to life in FSX with six distinct team aircraft textures for authentic formation roles across the short-lived F-105 display season. Includes coordinated markings for Lead, Left Wing, Right Wing, Slot, Solo, and Opposing Solo, and requires the payware AlphaSim F-105D.

This is a repaint of 1964 US Air Force Thunderbirds for the Alphasim payware Republic F-105D Thunderchief. Included in this file are textures for the six aircraft used by the Thunderbirds during the six shows utilizing this aircraft. By Robert Shirley.

Installation:

  • Always make backup copies of your files before installing the textures to base folder.
  • Copy the texture folders into your base aircraft in your FSX root folder. After copy the files in the common files folder into the texture folders.
  • The texture for Thunderbird 4 will have the blackened rudder already in it, so do not overwrite the File named Tail_T unless You want the clean rudder.
  • Add these lines to your aircraft.cfg file and replace the [ xx ] with the next number aircraft in sequence:

How to install this mod

FSX / P3D add-on
  1. Extract the downloaded archive

    Use 7-Zip (free) or WinRAR to extract the ZIP to a temporary folder. Don't install while still zipped — the simulator can't read inside ZIP files.
  2. Place files per the readme

    Most FSX add-ons go into one of: SimObjects\Airplanes\, Addon Scenery\, Effects\, or Gauges\.
  3. Always read the included readme
