FSX Scenery For KMSN
KMSN Dane County Regional Airport scenery sharpens Madison’s ground layout with a more accurate taxiway network, improved terminal parking and gate codes, plus added GA spots and cargo-area enhancements. A custom flatten fixes elevation and boundary issues, while access roads help keep service vehicles off taxiways in FSX.
Scenery For KMSN, Dane County Regional Airport/Truax Field, Madison, Wisconsin (WI). More accurately models the taxiway system and adds parking and gate codes to the terminal area. By John Lupori.
Release notes:
These files add parking and gate codes to the terminal area and more accurately model the taxi system at Dane County Regional Airport – Truax Field - KDSM. There were also boundary issues which were addressed with the included flatten. It also adds GA parking at various areas.
To install, drop KMSN_afx.bgl and MSN_FL.bgl in the addon scenery\scenery folder in FSX and restart. Alternately, you can drop one or both files into the global scenery\scenery folder. I personally like to keep the AFCAD style files (KMSN_afx) in the addon folder and flattens, (MSN_FL), LC and Approach corrections in the global folder for clarity.
Other changes: As defined in this release, added some extras at the main cargo area. I believe that at the actual airfield there are no cargo ops where I have them but it seemed to be a more visible area so I went with this setup. There were issues with the original boundary fence floating so I added the flatten file to correct this and reworked the boundary fence. I have added access roads for vehicle traffic between the main terminal and the other tarmacs to cut down the use of taxiways by support vehicles.
Legal and technical stuff:
Use these files at your own risk. This project took awhile to do so please respect the work and contact me if you would like to use them in whole or part in another project. It’s released as freeware and I would like it to stay that way.
