FSX Landclass Scenery For New Zealand

New Zealand landclass scenery refines default terrain placement to better match real-world regions and coastlines, improving VFR navigation and the overall look of rural, urban, and alpine areas. Built for Microsoft Flight Simulator X, it suits spring, summer, and fall flying while preserving the stock texture set for consistent seasonal performance.

Landclass Scenery For New Zealand. Best used in spring, summer and fall. This landclass does not remove all the unrealistic dry desert like textures as this is a texture problem that can only be fixed if someone upgrades the default FSX textures to look more realistic. By Ian Thatcher.

Landclass for New Zealand - FSX ONLY

This is a modified version of my FS2004 Landclass Files for New Zealand that can now be used in FSX.

This landclass is best used in Spring, Summer and Fall seasons as I find the winter textures in FSX are not anything like the real thing.

PLEASE NOTE: This landclass does NOT remove all the unrealistic dry desert like textures as this is a Texture problem that can only be fixed if someone upgrades the Default FSX textures to look more realistic.

*** Installation *** Please just copy and paste the BGL file into your "\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\Scenery\BASE\Scenery" Folder.

Cheers.

Ian Thatcher

How to install this mod

FSX / P3D scenery
  1. Extract the downloaded archive

Use 7-Zip (free) or WinRAR to extract the ZIP to a temporary folder. Don't install while still zipped — the simulator can't read inside ZIP files.
  2. Place scenery in Addon Scenery

Create a folder under FSX\Addon Scenery\ containing scenery and texture sub-folders.
  3. Activate in Scenery Library

In FSX, go to Settings → Scenery Library → Add Area. Higher priority means it overrides lower entries for the same location.
  4. Always read the included readme

Every mod ships with a readme.txt or README file. It tells you exactly where files go, what dependencies are needed, and any quirks specific to this add-on.
