FSX Gosport Highrise Scenery

Gosport Highrise scenery brings Gosport, UK to life in FSX with landmark high-rise buildings, the Royal Navy Submarine Museum and HMS Alliance, plus the Gosport Ferry Terminal and an animated ferry crossing to Portsmouth. Built with efficient LODs and restrained textures, it suits VFR exploring and requires Generation X VFR Photographic Scenery Vol 1.

Installation:

Move the "Gosport" directory to your Addon scenery folder.
Install scenery in the normal way. (eg Run FSX - Settings - scenery library - ADD area).

For the ferry move the "Ai_Gosportferry" folder into the SimObject/Boats directory.

I think the Gosport to Portsmouth ferry service runs every fifteen minutes & every 7 minutes during peak time. I've made a poor attempt at this time table as FSX seems to have a smallest possible trip time of 1Hr. If anyboady can get these ferrys to travel more accuratly to the real times I would be very greatful to hear from you.

All models were created using GMAX. I believe this model is fairly frame rate friendly as I've used a few LOD levels and the minimum number of texture files in there creation. This scenery has be designed to fit with the Generation X Photographic Scenery for the area. All the models are impressions of the real buildings they portray as I rarely managed to get accurate dimensions during their construction.

This scenery add-on is made available for the private use of Microsoft Flight Simulator enthusiasts. Under no circumstances may this zip file be modified or sold for profit. The use of this scenery is at your own risk, the author can not be held responsible.

How to install this mod

FSX / P3D scenery

  1. Extract the downloaded archive

    Use 7-Zip (free) or WinRAR to extract the ZIP to a temporary folder. Don't install while still zipped — the simulator can't read inside ZIP files.

  2. Place scenery in Addon Scenery

    Create a folder under FSX\Addon Scenery\ containing scenery and texture sub-folders.

  3. Activate in Scenery Library

    In FSX, go to Settings → Scenery Library → Add Area. Higher priority means it overrides lower entries for the same location.

  4. Always read the included readme

    Every mod ships with a readme.txt or README file. It tells you exactly where files go, what dependencies are needed, and any quirks specific to this add-on.
