FSX VEPT Patna Scenery

VEPT Patna Airport scenery refreshes the stock field with more convincing airfield detail, including hand-placed touchdown zone markings, corrected PAPI positions, added buildings, roads, navaids, and static objects. Designed for Microsoft Flight Simulator X, it requires Lance Tucker’s runway marking library for full runway realism while preserving the original layout and surroundings.

VEPT Patna, India. Minor improvements to the airield at Patna, India. The runway has hand-placed touchdown markings - these are contained in the Lance Tucker object library (RWY_MARK.ZIP). If you do not install these objects the scenery will work fine albeit without TDZ markings on the runway. Each end is marked with 500 foot bars, 1000 foot TDZ markings, 1500 + 2000 foot bars, as in real life. PAPI resited both runways. A short runway with displaced thresholds at each end makes a challenging destination for 737s and A320s. By John Ball.

For use with base FSX scenery ie not tested with any add-ons.

An enhancement of the basic FSX representation of Patna Airport.

The Scenery is extremely basic in the FSX version. This is a reasonably accurate scenery, with added details around the airfield and custom marked runway touchdown zones.

(FSX Runway Numbers And Markings freeware add-on by Lance Tucker required for full realism but not essential if you can't or don't want to download it) (file name rwy_mark.zip, or search for FSX Runway Numbers And Markings)

does not allow full TDZ markings on runways less than 6000 feet. The TDZ has hand-placed markings - these are contained in the Lance Tucker object library above. If you do not install these objects the scenery will work fine albeit without TDZ markings on the runway. Each end is marked with 500 foot bars, 1000 foot TDZ markings, 1500 + 2000foot bars, as in real life. PAPI resited both rwys.

Added buildings, perimeter roads, navaids and static objects. This is a fictional enhancement, not intended to be 100% accurate, but respects the original airfield layout and surrounds.

INSTALLATION:

1) Paste all VEPT_ADEX files (3 in total) into your main FSX\Addon Scenery\Scenery folder.

2) You should also download and install file - rwy_mark.zip. Follow installation instructions included. A small file and easy to install.

Run FSX and go to airport VEPT - India - Patna.

This works fine with my system. I don't see any reason why it should not work for you if installed as above. Hope it works fine and you enjoy the scenery.

How to install this mod

FSX / P3D scenery

Extract the downloaded archive

Use 7-Zip (free) or WinRAR to extract the ZIP to a temporary folder. Don't install while still zipped — the simulator can't read inside ZIP files.
Place scenery in Addon Scenery

Create a folder under FSX\Addon Scenery\ containing scenery and texture sub-folders.
Activate in Scenery Library

In FSX, go to Settings → Scenery Library → Add Area. Higher priority means it overrides lower entries for the same location.

Finding the scenery

Use these coordinates to fly directly to this location once the mod is installed.
