FSX Scenery And Landclass For Maui

Maui, Hawaii gets a comprehensive landclass and scenery overhaul that sharpens coastlines, towns, and terrain for convincing VFR navigation, while adding hundreds of accurately placed objects to match the island’s real-world layout. All three Maui airports receive extensive visual updates for greater realism in FSX, enhancing approaches, taxiways, and surroundings.

Scenery And Landclass For Maui, Hawaii (HI). This is a detailed landclass and scenery redesign of the entire Island of Maui. The changes that have been created will make for excellent VFR flying. Hundreds of objects have been added that reflect the real layout and scenery for this location. Maui's three airports have also been extensively modified to look like the real existing airports. Nothing says Airport and ATC like the venerable ASR9 Radar. This iteration of the ASR-9 comes in three flavors, one with the radar on a platform with obstruction lights that light between dusk and dawn, one with just the radar so you can mount it wherever you want and one on a tall purpose-built tower.

I've also added two doppler radars as well. The difference between the two is the type of tower.

This is only to help build freeware airports with proper credit given. This is FSX native and built with the SP-2/acceleration SDK. You should be able to place these models with Instant scenery, Whisplacer or any other FSX compliant object placer.

By the way, the radar.BGL and radar.txt files go in the scenery folder. The xxx.dds files go in the texture folder.

How to install this mod

FSX / P3D scenery

  1. Extract the downloaded archive

    Use 7-Zip (free) or WinRAR to extract the ZIP to a temporary folder. Don't install while still zipped — the simulator can't read inside ZIP files.

  2. Place scenery in Addon Scenery

    Create a folder under FSX\Addon Scenery\ containing scenery and texture sub-folders.

  3. Activate in Scenery Library

    In FSX, go to Settings → Scenery Library → Add Area. Higher priority means it overrides lower entries for the same location.

  4. Always read the included readme

    Every mod ships with a readme.txt or README file. It tells you exactly where files go, what dependencies are needed, and any quirks specific to this add-on.
