FSX P-51D Wild Horses

P-51D Mustang “Wild Horses” brings a polished warbird package to Microsoft Flight Simulator X with a high-luster repaint, complete aircraft files, and a detailed virtual cockpit and panel setup. Tuned for agile handling and 400-knot-plus performance, it uses a custom alpha-channel light-bending “Formula 14” finish for an eye-catching sheen.

A silver P-51D Mustang with a red nose and checkerboard pattern flies above a landscape with scattered trees.

A repaint of Roger Dial's North American P51 Mustang D, modified for Flight Simulator X and entitled "Wild Horses". This warbird is capable of speeds in excess of 400 knots. It is very fast and highly maneuverable. Painted in a high luster shine. This effect achieved with the use of a modified alpha channel and light bending process Formula 14 . This technique created and used by Rooks Silva Design Group (RSDG). This is a complete aircraft. FSX modifications by Mark Rooks.

To install this aircraft:

As always back up any original files.

1.Unzip downloaded folders to your desktop or temporary directory of your choice.

2.Copy the "Wild Horses " folder and paste it in the main aircraft folder.

3.Unzip and install the guages and panel.

By default the main aircraft folder is located at:

"C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\FSX\SIM Objects /Aircraft.

Textures and Air and CFG files created by Mark "Fire Ball" Rooks.

Enjoy your new repaint and air file.

Extract the downloaded archive

Use 7-Zip (free) or WinRAR to extract the ZIP to a temporary folder. Don't install while still zipped — the simulator can't read inside ZIP files.
