FSX Mustang Thunder

Mustang Thunder brings a North American P-51D to life in a fictional USAF Thunderbirds-style paint scheme, imagining how the 1947 demonstration team might have looked, complete with updated textures, airfile, and configuration tweaks. Built for Microsoft Flight Simulator X, it requires Roger Dial’s P-51D base model and includes a tailored virtual cockpit panel setup.

Flight Simulator X Prepar3D

A repaint of Roger Dial's North American P-51 Mustang D modified for Flight Simulator X. Aircraft is entitled "Mustang Thunder", in a fictional paint scheme of the United States Air Force Demonstration Team "The Thunderbirds". This fantasy aircraft gives us an idea what it would have looked like if the Thunderbirds were formed in 1947. This is a complete aircraft modified By Mark Rooks.

To install this aircraft:

As always back up any original files.

1.Unzip downloaded folders to your desktop or temporary directory of your choice.

2.Copy the " Mustang Thunder " folder and paste it in the main aircraft folder. By default the main aircraft folder is located at:

"C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\FSX\SIM Objects /Aircraft .

3.Unzip and install the guages for the panel in folder below:

"C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\FSX\Guages

Textures and Air and CFG files created by Mark "Fire Ball" Rooks.

Enjoy your new repaint and air file.

How to install this mod

FSX / P3D add-on
  1. Extract the downloaded archive

    Use 7-Zip (free) or WinRAR to extract the ZIP to a temporary folder. Don't install while still zipped — the simulator can't read inside ZIP files.
  2. Place files per the readme

    Most FSX add-ons go into one of: SimObjects\Airplanes\, Addon Scenery\, Effects\, or Gauges\.
  3. Always read the included readme

    Every mod ships with a readme.txt or README file. It tells you exactly where files go, what dependencies are needed, and any quirks specific to this add-on.
