AFG Caravelle III Released for FS2004

After many years in the making, it's our pleasure to offer the Sud Aviation Caravelle III for download. The initial release is for FS2004 only. For the moment no FSX release is planned.

The 3D model is highly detailed with all the animations you've come to expect. The aircraft also features a working 3D brakechute, as found on early generation Caravelles. No VC is offered, but a highly realistic panel differing in version according to the operator featured.

The Sud Aviation Caravelle is an aircraft that many people might not be too aware of, but given the length of time it flew for you should find it fairly easy to get to grips with. It first entered the skies in 1955 and retired in 2004.

The aircraft itself, though, was a major part of the European market finally breaking into the lucrative US aviation market. From there, the Caravelle brand was established and for many people it became a bit of a pioneer. As the world’s first ever short-to-medium range jet airliner, it was a major part of the growth of French aviation in particular and soon became a major part of the European flight world.

However, the aircraft was notorious for incidents that compromised the safety of its crew and its passengers. The worst ever Caravelle incident took place on March 14th, 1972. This incident seen 112 people die in a horrific accident that, to this day, is still seen as the most vicious and deadliest aviation problem to ever occur within the United Arab Emirates.

That aside, the aircraft was well respected. Now, you can hope into the aircraft and see the world through the eyes of the Caravelle for yourself. This mod is a great one to have for FS2004 users who want to have something that even FSX users are unable to get their hands on!
