FSDreamTeam Honolulu International Released

Posted on

FSDreamTeam announced its release of the Honolulu International scenery add-on in January 2010.

Honolulu International Airport is available for FSX and FS2004, and a license is valid for use in both simulators. This release was long-waited; many flight simulators have wanted a high quality scenery add-on for the main hub in the beautiful Hawaii – the Honolulu International Airport.

Honolulu International Airport is the primary airport for the City of Honolulu and the State of Hawaii. Originally opened in 1927 as John Rodgers Airport, the airport has a long history. Located next to Pearl Harbour, its airfield was taken over by the military after the Japanese attack in December 1941, and later returned to the territory of Hawaii in 1946. Today, Honolulu International Airport is one of the busiest airports in the US.

Honolulu scenery add-on is easy to install – you will need internet connection, and once the installation process starts, it downloads some files and complete the process without needing you to do anything. The scenery package comes with two PDF guidebooks; an 18-page installation manual and a 32-page scenery guide.

The program’s scenery has the complete Honolulu airport complex with both the civilian airport which includes the main terminal building and the cargo areas, and the nearby Hickam Air Force Base.

Similar to previous releases, this release’s FSX version comes with the new FSDreamTeam scripting engine, with realistic SafeGate docking system available for the ParkMe function. The scenery add-on also has YouControl features which flight simulators can use to control several scenery animations.

Users of this add-on have stated that they have found this scenery package enjoyable – it enhances the Hawaiian experience through providing a very comprehensive gateway airport to this stunning part of the world. Other factors which users like about this scenery add-on are as follows:

  • It has a realistic look, with a nice combination of photo scenery and 3D objects
  • The ParkMe and YouControl features make the simulation experience much more fun
  • There are many details throughout the whole airport
