Find Concorde add-ons for MSFS 2020 and 2024, what works on Xbox, and the compatibility checks to make before buying or installing.
Yes. Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 has third-party Concorde aircraft, including commercial and freeware options. You can fly Concorde on Xbox Series X|S only when that specific aircraft is sold through the in-sim Marketplace with Xbox support. For MSFS 2024, also confirm that the product is explicitly marked compatible.
Concorde is not included among the standard aircraft in either simulator, so you need a separate add-on. A widely used commercial choice is DC Designs Concorde, which was released through the MSFS 2020 Marketplace with Xbox support. Free alternatives are mainly for PC and vary considerably in systems, flight model and completeness; our guide explains what the available freeware Concorde packages actually provide.
Which Concorde options work on each platform?
The installation route depends on both the simulator version and the platform.
| Platform | Available route | Main limitation |
|---|---|---|
| MSFS 2020 on PC | Marketplace aircraft or manually installed freeware | Free packages may be simplified, incomplete or require another aircraft |
| MSFS 2020 on Xbox Series X|S | Concorde sold through the in-sim Marketplace with Xbox support | PC downloads cannot be installed |
| MSFS 2024 on PC | Marketplace or Community add-ons explicitly compatible with MSFS 2024 | An older MSFS 2020 package may need a publisher update |
| MSFS 2024 on Xbox Series X|S | Marketplace aircraft labelled for both MSFS 2024 and Xbox | Simulator compatibility and platform compatibility must both be present |
Can you fly Concorde on Xbox?
Yes, but Xbox accepts aircraft only through the simulator’s Marketplace. There is no usable Community folder on the console, and downloading a ZIP file on another device does not make that aircraft available on Xbox.
Before buying, open the Concorde product page from the simulator running on your Xbox and check these points:
- Confirm the platform: the listing must include Xbox support, not PC alone.
- Confirm the simulator: for MSFS 2024, look for explicit 2024 compatibility rather than assuming an MSFS 2020 product works.
- Check the product type: it must be a complete flyable aircraft, not merely a Concorde livery.
- Install the aircraft: after acquiring it, make sure the package has finished downloading in the simulator’s owned-content library.
Our explanation of why downloaded PC aircraft cannot be sideloaded on Xbox covers the console restriction in detail. MSFS 2024 users can also follow our guidance for checking compatibility and installing Marketplace aircraft on Xbox.
Does an MSFS 2020 Concorde work in MSFS 2024?
Not automatically. MSFS 2024 supports many aircraft originally built for MSFS 2020, but each publisher still has to test, update or approve its package for the newer simulator.
On PC, do not copy an entire old Community folder into MSFS 2024 and expect every aircraft to behave correctly. Install the compatible Concorde package cleanly, then remove any older duplicate if you see missing instruments, broken controls or multiple Concorde entries in the aircraft selector.
On Xbox, the Marketplace listing is decisive. Owning an MSFS 2020 edition does not by itself prove that its MSFS 2024 package has been released for Xbox.
Why does Concorde not appear after installation?
The usual cause is an incomplete installation, a livery mistaken for an aircraft, or a package built for the wrong simulator version.
- PC freeware: open the extracted package and locate
manifest.jsonandlayout.json. The folder containing those files should be the package folder placed inCommunity, not buried inside an extra wrapper folder. - Marketplace aircraft: confirm that the aircraft itself, rather than only an associated livery, appears as installed in the owned-content library.
- MSFS 2024: remove obsolete duplicates and use the package identified as 2024-compatible.
- Xbox: abandon any attempt to use a manually downloaded PC mod; only the Marketplace edition can appear on the console.
A mistake we see often is downloading a file bearing the Concorde name without checking whether it is a complete aircraft. Repaints require the exact base model named by their description and cannot fly by themselves.
Can the Concorde add-on fly supersonically?
A complete Concorde aircraft should be capable of supersonic flight and cruising around Mach 2, although the accuracy of its performance depends on the add-on. It will not accelerate properly if reheat is unavailable, the aircraft is too low, the throttle is not reaching its full range or the flight model is heavily simplified.
Xbox controller users may need to operate reheat and specialist systems through the cockpit cursor or assign suitable controls. Concorde also relies on the correct climb profile, fuel management and centre-of-gravity control, so it demands more preparation than a conventional airliner.
