Download FlyByWire A380X liveries for MSFS 2020, choose the correct repaint, install it in Community, and fix liveries that do not appear.
You can download FlyByWire A380X liveries for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 from our Microsoft Flight Simulator add-on library. Choose repaints explicitly labelled for the FlyByWire A380X and MSFS 2020, because liveries made for another A380 model—or only for MSFS 2024—may not appear or map correctly.
Which A380 livery files should I download?
The repaint must match both the FlyByWire A380X and Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020. “A380 livery” by itself is not a sufficient compatibility description because separate A380 add-ons use different models, texture layouts and configuration entries.
| Livery description | Use in MSFS 2020? |
|---|---|
| FlyByWire A380X for MSFS 2020 | Yes |
| FlyByWire A380X for MSFS 2020 and 2024 | Yes, if the author explicitly states dual compatibility |
| FlyByWire A380X for MSFS 2024 only | Do not assume compatibility |
| Livery for another A380 add-on | No |
| Generic “A380” repaint with no aircraft named | Check the description or included documentation before installing |
A livery is only a repaint; it does not usually contain the flyable aircraft. If the A380X is not already installed, our FlyByWire A380 complete aircraft package for MSFS 2020 provides the required base model.
How do I install FlyByWire A380X liveries?
- Download and extract the archive. Do not place the compressed ZIP or RAR file directly in the Community folder.
- Find the actual package folder. Its top level should normally contain files such as
manifest.jsonandlayout.json. A common mistake is copying an extra outer folder and leaving the package one level too deep. - Copy the package into the active Community folder. MSFS Store, Steam and custom installations can use different locations, so verify the folder used by your installation.
- Restart Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020. Select the FlyByWire A380X, then choose the repaint from the aircraft’s available liveries.
For package layouts, Community-folder checks and detailed troubleshooting, follow our step-by-step A380X livery installation guide.
Why is my A380X livery not showing?
A missing livery is usually caused by the wrong aircraft target, nested folders or installation into an inactive Community folder.
- Wrong A380 model: confirm that the download names the FlyByWire A380X rather than a different freeware or payware A380.
- Extra folder level: move the folder containing
manifest.jsonandlayout.jsondirectly into Community. - Wrong Community folder: check which folder the active MSFS 2020 installation reads, especially if the simulator has been reinstalled or its packages moved.
- Outdated repaint: an aircraft update can expose texture or configuration incompatibilities. Check the download description for a revised package.
- Duplicate copies: remove older versions of the same repaint, then reinstall one clean copy.
If the livery appears but shows white, missing or badly aligned textures, it was probably built for another A380 model, an incompatible simulator version or an older aircraft configuration.
Can Xbox users install downloaded A380X liveries?
No. Loose Community-folder packages are for the PC edition of MSFS 2020. Xbox users cannot sideload downloaded repaint folders and are limited to compatible content distributed through the simulator’s supported in-sim system.
