Fuselage length, doors, windows, model folders and texture mapping vary between CRJ versions. Packages made only for MSFS 2024 or a newer CRJ product generation should not be assumed to work in MSFS 2020.
How do I install a CRJ livery in MSFS 2020?
On PC, most CRJ repaints are extracted and placed in the MSFS 2020 Community folder.
- Extract the archive rather than copying the ZIP or RAR file itself.
- Find the package root. The folder you install should normally contain
manifest.jsonandlayout.jsonnear its top level. - Move that package into the active
Communityfolder. Do not merge it into the base aircraft unless the included instructions explicitly require that method. - Restart MSFS 2020, select the matching CRJ variant and choose the new paint from its livery list.

Xbox users cannot install downloaded Community-folder packages; they are limited to content distributed through the simulator's Marketplace.
Why is my CRJ livery not showing up?
A missing CRJ livery usually means the package is nested too deeply, targets a different aircraft or cannot find its required base add-on.
- No entry in the livery list: check for an extra wrapper folder and confirm that the required CRJ aircraft is installed.
- Pink or chequered textures: the repaint is normally referencing missing textures or an incompatible CRJ model.
- Paint appears on the wrong variant: remove it and obtain a package built for that precise fuselage version.
- Nothing changes after copying files: close and restart the simulator; packages added while MSFS is running may not be detected.
- Duplicate or disappearing entries: remove older copies of the same repaint and check that two packages do not use an identical internal name.
