Where can I download PMDG 737-800 liveries for MSFS 2024?

Adam McEnroe
In short

Download PMDG 737-800 liveries for MSFS 2024, match the right variant, and install .ptp or Community packages without missing textures.

You can download PMDG 737-800 liveries for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 from our Microsoft Flight Simulator freeware library. Choose a repaint explicitly made for the PMDG 737-800 and its passenger, BBJ2 or freighter variant; then import a .ptp file with PMDG Operations Center or place a conventional package in the Community folder.

Which PMDG 737-800 livery should I download?

Download only a repaint that matches the PMDG 737-800, the required airframe variant and your installed simulator version. The words “737-800” alone do not guarantee compatibility.

CheckWhat must matchWhat to avoid
Base aircraftPMDG 737-800Default 737s, other developers’ aircraft and PMDG -600, -700 or -900 models
VariantPassenger, BBJ2, BCF or BDSF, as specified by the downloadAssuming one package fits every 737-800 configuration

Our guide to matching Boeing 737 repaints to the correct add-on explains why liveries for apparently similar 737s are not interchangeable. For a specific passenger-aircraft case, see our Alaska repaint compatibility example.

Does the livery include the PMDG aircraft?

No. A livery contains textures and supporting configuration data, not the flyable aeroplane. You must own and install the compatible PMDG 737-800 product—and the required variant—before its repaint can appear in Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024.

How do I install a PMDG 737-800 livery?

The package format determines the installation method: import .ptp files through PMDG Operations Center, but extract conventional MSFS packages into the Community folder.

  1. Read the download description. Confirm that it names the PMDG 737-800, the correct variant and MSFS 2024 compatibility.
  2. Extract the downloaded archive. Do not place a compressed ZIP or RAR archive in the Community folder.
  3. Use the correct installer. Import a .ptp package with PMDG Operations Center. For a normal MSFS package, copy the extracted add-on folder into Community.
  4. Restart the simulator. Select the PMDG 737-800 and check its livery selection rather than a different 737 model or variant.

Folder locations vary with the simulator edition and installation source. Our PMDG livery installation walkthrough covers both supported methods and the folder-structure checks that prevent most failures.

Why does my downloaded livery not appear?

A missing PMDG livery usually means the package targets the wrong model, was installed one folder too deep or uses an incompatible MSFS 2020 configuration.

  • Wrong aircraft or variant: a passenger repaint may not register against BBJ2, BCF or BDSF entries, and liveries for other PMDG 737 lengths will not transfer automatically.
  • Nested Community folder: open the installed package and check that another identically named folder is not hiding the actual package. Its manifest.json and layout.json files should be near the package root.
  • Incorrect file handling: Operations Center cannot import a ZIP archive, while MSFS cannot load a raw .ptp file from Community.
  • Unconfirmed 2020 compatibility: some older repaints work in MSFS 2024, but others reference outdated package names, texture paths or configuration entries. Use a package whose listing confirms compatibility.
  • Duplicate installation: remove older copies of the same repaint, then restart MSFS so it scans the remaining package cleanly.

If the livery appears in the list but the aircraft loads with pink, blank or incomplete textures, the texture references are missing or incompatible. Reinstall the complete archive and verify the exact PMDG variant before treating it as a simulator graphics problem.

Can I install these liveries on Xbox or PS5?

You cannot sideload PC livery downloads into MSFS 2024 on Xbox Series X|S or PlayStation 5. Consoles do not expose a Community folder or run PMDG Operations Center, so console users can use only compatible liveries distributed through the simulator’s own content system or included with the aircraft.
