Where can I get an Alaska PMDG 737-800 livery in MSFS 2024?

Adam McEnroe
In short

Find an Alaska Airlines PMDG 737-800 livery for MSFS 2024, choose the right variant, install .ptp or Community files, and fix missing paints.

On PC, look in our MSFS mods library for an Alaska Airlines repaint explicitly labelled for the PMDG 737-800 and Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024. Download the 737-800 passenger variant—not a 737-700, 737-900 or default 737 skin—and follow the package format’s installation method.

Which Alaska Airlines livery file should I choose?

Choose a listing that names both PMDG 737-800 and MSFS 2024; a generic Boeing 737 repaint will not fit every developer’s model. Search for terms such as Alaska PMDG 737-800, but verify the description instead of relying on the thumbnail.

The repaint does not include the aeroplane. The separately licensed PMDG 737-800 for MSFS 2024 must already be installed.

What the listing saysShould you use it?
PMDG 737-800 passenger, MSFS 2024Yes; this is the correct target.
PMDG 737-800, MSFS 2020 onlyOnly if the author explicitly confirms MSFS 2024 compatibility.
Default 737, 737 MAX or another developer’s 737No; its model and texture mapping are different.
PMDG 737-800 BCF or BDSFOnly for the corresponding cargo variant, not the passenger aircraft.

If no listing explicitly supports MSFS 2024, do not assume an older MSFS 2020 package will work merely because it uses the same PMDG aircraft name. Package metadata, model references and texture configuration may differ.

How do I install the PMDG 737-800 Alaska livery?

Install it through PMDG Operations Center when the download contains a .ptp file; use the Community folder only when the author supplies a normal MSFS package. Our PMDG repaint installation instructions cover both formats in detail.

  1. Extract the downloaded archive once. Read any included instructions. If you find a .ptp file, do not try to unpack that file manually.
  2. Import a .ptp package. Open PMDG Operations Center, select the installed MSFS 2024 737 product and use its livery import utility. See our Operations Center walkthrough if the product or import control is unclear.
  3. Install a Community package correctly. Extract it so the package folder containing manifest.json and layout.json sits directly inside the active MSFS 2024 Community folder.
  4. Restart Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024. Select the PMDG 737-800 passenger model, then choose the Alaska Airlines repaint from its available liveries.

Why does the Alaska livery not appear in MSFS 2024?

The usual cause is a model or simulator-version mismatch, not the paint itself. Check these points before downloading another copy:

  • Wrong 737 variant: a repaint assigned to the 737-800 passenger model will not necessarily appear under a cargo variant, BBJ, 737-700 or 737-900.
  • Nested package folders: the active Community folder should contain the package folder itself, not an extra archive-name folder wrapped around it.
  • Wrong simulator location: MSFS 2020 and MSFS 2024 may use different package locations, especially when a custom installation path has been selected.
  • Older package: an MSFS 2020-only repaint may require an updated release rather than a folder rename.
  • Duplicate versions: remove the older copy before installing a replacement, as two packages with overlapping identifiers can conflict.
  • Pink, chequered or blank textures: these usually indicate missing or incompatible texture references. Use a corrected MSFS 2024 package rather than changing graphics settings.

Can I install the Alaska PMDG livery on Xbox or PS5?

Not from a downloaded .zip or .ptp file. PMDG Operations Center and Community-folder installation are PC workflows. On Xbox Series X|S, PS5 and PS5 Pro, the livery must be distributed through the simulator’s in-sim content system for that platform; a PC repaint cannot be copied across manually.
