FlyByWire A32NX won't load in MSFS? Check the Community folder, remove duplicate installs, isolate mod conflicts and restore the aircraft.
The FlyByWire A32NX usually will not load in Microsoft Flight Simulator because its package is in the wrong Community folder, nested one folder too deep, duplicated by an older copy, corrupted during an update, or conflicting with a livery or other mod. Verify the simulator-specific installation, remove duplicates, then reinstall one clean, compatible build.
What does the A32NX loading symptom tell you?
First identify what “won’t load” means, because a missing aircraft, an endless loading bar and an unpowered cockpit have different causes.

How do I fix an A32NX that will not load?
- Confirm the platform and simulator. The standard FlyByWire Installer and Community-folder package are for PC; they cannot be copied into the Xbox or PlayStation versions. MSFS 2020 and MSFS 2024 also have separate package locations, so installing into one does not install it into the other.
- Find the Community folder MSFS is actually using. Custom installations and moved package libraries often leave several folders named
Community. Match the FlyByWire Installer location to the active simulator packages location. Follow our MSFS 2020 Community-folder and installation checks, or use the separate MSFS 2024 package-location guidance if that is your simulator. - Check the folder depth. A manual installation should have a path resembling
Community/flybywire-aircraft-a320-neo/manifest.json, withlayout.jsonbeside it. If another identically named folder sits between the package folder and those files, MSFS will not discover the aircraft. Do not leave the ZIP archive in Community or install the package under the simulator's Official folder. - Remove duplicate and obsolete copies. Close MSFS, then move every old A32NX package out of all active Community locations. Temporarily remove A32NX liveries and older mods intended to alter the stock A320neo as well. Never merge a new Stable, Development or Experimental package over files from another branch.
- Install one clean, compatible build. Use the FlyByWire Installer and select the simulator it identifies as supported. For diagnosis, use Stable if it is offered for that simulator; otherwise use the branch the installer marks as compatible. Let the installation finish, confirm that sufficient storage remains, and check security-software quarantine if files repeatedly disappear.
- Test without other add-ons. Leave only the freshly installed A32NX in Community and start a new flight at a stock airport. Outdated liveries, avionics packages, toolbar utilities and airport mods can all interfere. If the aircraft loads, restore the other packages in batches until the failure returns.
- Select the FlyByWire aircraft entry. The stock Airbus A320neo and the FlyByWire A32NX are separate aircraft. A successful installation should create an aircraft entry carrying the FlyByWire name; loading the stock A320neo does not test the A32NX package.
Why does the A32NX load with black screens?
If you can enter the 3D cockpit, the aircraft itself has loaded. In a cold-and-dark state, switch on both batteries and establish external power or start the APU before expecting the main displays and aircraft systems to operate normally.

Does SimBridge need to be running?
No. SimBridge is a separate companion application used by certain external and remote features; it is not required for the A32NX to appear in the aircraft selector or load into a basic flight. What if the loading bar still hangs?
A repeatable hang after a clean installation usually points to something outside the basic package structure. A first load after an aircraft or simulator update can take longer, but repeated freezes or returns to the desktop are not normal.
- Start a new flight rather than a saved flight that may reference an old A32NX branch, livery or panel state.
- If the package is stored on an external drive or linked by an add-on manager, confirm that the target is connected. Install directly into the active Community folder for the test.
- Check that MSFS and the FlyByWire Installer completed their updates rather than leaving partially downloaded files.
- Test another complex aircraft and then test with Community completely empty. If every aircraft hangs, repair the simulator installation and its platform services rather than repeatedly reinstalling the A32NX.
