Is there an official Microsoft Train Simulator APK?
Microsoft never released MSTS as an Android APK. The original 2001 simulator uses a Windows executable, older Windows graphics components and keyboard-based controls that Android cannot run natively.
An APK advertised as “Microsoft Train Simulator for Android” is therefore an unofficial package. It may be an unrelated mobile game, a repackaged emulator or unsafe software. - Configure a remote-desktop or game-streaming app. Install its host component on the Windows PC and its client on Android. A fast local Wi-Fi connection usually gives better responsiveness than streaming across the internet.
- Provide suitable controls. A Bluetooth keyboard is the most predictable solution because MSTS expects numerous keyboard commands. Touch overlays can handle basic driving controls, but complex steam locomotives and activities quickly expose their limitations.
- Launch and test MSTS on the PC first. Once it reaches the menu correctly, connect from Android and begin with a simple activity or Explore Route session.

MSTS was built for x86 Windows PCs, while many Android devices use ARM processors. The software must translate processor instructions, old graphics calls, sound and input. Even if the installer opens, the simulator may show a black screen, render incorrectly, lose audio or perform too poorly to drive comfortably.

Why does MSTS streaming show a black screen or poor controls?
A black screen usually means the streaming software is failing to capture MSTS's older full-screen graphics output. If the streaming tool offers desktop capture, use that mode and launch MSTS after the remote session has connected. Reducing the host resolution may also make the interface easier to read on a phone.
For control problems, avoid mapping every command to the touchscreen. Map the reverser, regulator or throttle, brakes, horn, view controls and doors where relevant, then use a physical keyboard for less frequent commands. If the connection drops, check that the host PC is not entering sleep mode and that its streaming component is permitted through the Windows firewall.
Should you stream, emulate or choose another simulator?
Choose PC streaming when you specifically want the original Microsoft Train Simulator and already have a working Windows installation.
