No. Prepar3D cannot be installed or played natively on Xbox One or Xbox Series X|S. Lockheed Martin releases Prepar3D for compatible Windows PCs, not Xbox consoles, and there is no Xbox edition. You can use an Xbox controller with the PC simulator, but that does not make Prepar3D an Xbox game.
Why can’t Prepar3D run on Xbox?
Prepar3D is a Windows-only application; Xbox cannot execute its installers, licence-activation components, Windows drivers or normal add-on structure. Copying the installation folder to external storage will not work, nor will enabling console development features.
Xbox backward compatibility applies to approved Xbox releases, not arbitrary Windows software. Prepar3D also relies on desktop features such as configuration files, scenery libraries and interfaces used by third-party aircraft and utilities. What should Xbox players use instead?
Microsoft Flight Simulator is the closest full civilian flight-simulation alternative released for Xbox Series X|S. It is a separate simulator, however, rather than a console version of Prepar3D.

Can you stream Prepar3D from a PC to Xbox?
A remote-streaming arrangement does not make Prepar3D Xbox-compatible because the Windows PC must still install, license and render the simulator. If a local streaming setup can display the PC output on another screen, the Xbox is acting only as an endpoint.
Controller and flight-hardware pass-through, latency, audio and multi-monitor features can also cause trouble. For reliable flying, especially with yokes, pedals or multiple panels, we would run Prepar3D directly from the Windows PC connected to the required display.
Can you use an Xbox controller with Prepar3D on PC?
Yes. A compatible Xbox controller can be assigned inside Prepar3D’s control settings on Windows, with axes mapped for pitch, roll, rudder and throttle as required.
A mistake we see often is leaving the same axis assigned to both the gamepad and another controller, which causes twitching or conflicting inputs. Clear duplicate bindings and adjust sensitivity or null zones if the aircraft will not hold a steady control position. Trigger behaviour can vary with the input configuration, so confirm that the rudder axis centres correctly.
Do Prepar3D add-ons work on Xbox?
No. Prepar3D add-ons are built for its Windows file structure and software interfaces; they cannot be transferred into Microsoft Flight Simulator on Xbox. Even when the same aircraft or scenery name exists in both simulators, an independently supported Xbox-compatible edition is required.
Files in our Prepar3D freeware library for PC also need to match the installed P3D version. They are not console packages, and owning a Prepar3D licence or add-on does not provide an Xbox entitlement.
