How do I use the MSFS 2024 Marketplace on PS5?

Adam McEnroe
In short

Learn how to buy, install and manage PS5 add-ons in the MSFS 2024 Marketplace, plus account, compatibility and missing-content fixes.

To use the Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 Marketplace on PS5, open Marketplace from the simulator’s main menu, sign in with the linked Microsoft and PlayStation accounts, choose a PS5-compatible add-on, confirm its edition and price, then complete the purchase. Install or enable owned content inside the simulator, not through a PC mod folder.

The process is the same on PS5 Pro. Marketplace access requires an internet connection, online services and an updated copy of Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024.

How to buy and install PS5 Marketplace add-ons

Buy Marketplace content from within Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 and manage it through the simulator’s owned-content or library view.

  1. Check the signed-in accounts. Use the intended PlayStation account and its linked Microsoft account. Purchases appearing to vanish are often attached to a different account pairing.
  2. Open Marketplace. Select the Marketplace tile from the main menu, then browse or search for the aircraft, airport, scenery or livery you want.
  3. Read the complete listing. Confirm that it supports Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 and PS5. Check for required aircraft, base packages, edition restrictions and overlapping airport scenery.
  4. Confirm the purchase. Follow the PlayStation payment or confirmation screen. Free products may still need to be claimed before they enter your library.
  5. Open your owned content. Select the product and use the available install, download or enable control. Some MSFS 2024 assets are streamed and therefore do not behave like a conventional full download.
  6. Restart when required. Aircraft, scenery or menus may not refresh until you return to the main menu or restart the simulator.

Check storage space before installing large aircraft or scenery packages. Before paying, our breakdown of Marketplace purchasing and its restrictions explains when the in-simulator store is the right option.

Which Marketplace add-ons work on PS5?

Only products offered as compatible with Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 on PS5 should be treated as supported.

PS5 has no accessible Community folder and cannot run Windows installers. Our explanation of why PC mods do not appear on PS5 covers this platform restriction in more detail. Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 itself was never released for PlayStation, so a 2020 label alone does not establish PS5 compatibility.

Do PC or Xbox Marketplace purchases transfer to PS5?

Do not assume a Marketplace purchase or entitlement from PC or Xbox will transfer to PS5, even when the same Microsoft account is linked.

Licensing and product availability can be platform-specific. The reliable test is the PS5 listing: if it displays Owned under the account you are using, the entitlement has been recognised. If it still shows a price, verify the accounts and product edition before buying again.

Why is the Marketplace unavailable or my add-on missing?

Most PS5 Marketplace problems come from outdated simulator files, disabled online services, account mismatches or an entitlement that has not refreshed.

  • Marketplace is missing or unavailable: confirm that the PS5 is online, online functionality is enabled, parental purchase restrictions permit access and the simulator is fully patched. Follow our MSFS 2024 update steps if the console has not installed the latest build.
  • Payment completed but the item is absent: verify the transaction belongs to the active PlayStation account, restart MSFS 2024 and allow time for its online entitlement to refresh. Do not purchase the same item again while the first transaction is still being processed.
  • The product says Owned but is not active: open the owned-content or library view and check whether it still needs installing or enabling. Also check free storage and restart the simulator after activation.
  • A known PC add-on cannot be found: its publisher may not offer a PS5-compatible Marketplace edition. A PC download cannot be copied across as a substitute.

If access or ownership still fails, use our focused Marketplace sign-in and missing-content checks, including PlayStation licence restoration and account troubleshooting.
