Procedure coverage

Rolla Municipal/Leonard Krech Field has a single RNAV (GPS) approach serving only one runway end. Published instrument access is therefore confined to one direction, with neither the opposite end nor the crossing runway represented by an approach. The 4,300 ft paved runway provides nearly twice the available length of the 2,200 ft turf runway, making the shorter crossing strip relevant only to aircraft able to use that length and surface.

Regional chart context

Cando Municipal has similarly limited chart coverage, while Bottineau Municipal, Rugby Municipal and Robertson Field each have only a slightly broader set. Devils Lake Regional stands apart with twice as many published charts as any of those fields. The Twin Cities Sectional adds the wider visual-navigation context absent from Rolla’s small instrument procedure set.

What are the radio frequencies for 06D?

CTAF 122.8. Full civil VHF list, with sector notes, is in the frequencies table on this page — from the FAA NASR subscription.

How long is the runway at 06D?

Rolla Muni/Leonard Krech Fld has 2 runways. The longest is 14/32 at 4,300 ft by 75 ft, asphalt. Full runway dimensions, lighting and approach aids are listed on this page.

Does 06D have an ILS approach?

No ILS is published. In total 06D has 1 published instrument approach, of which 1 are RNAV (GPS).

Which runway do instrument approaches serve at 06D?

Is 06D a towered airport?

No — Rolla Muni/Leonard Krech Fld has no control tower. Traffic co-ordinates on a common frequency rather than with a controller, which is listed in the frequencies table on this page.

Are these 06D charts current?

They are from the FAA cycle effective 6 August 2026, which is superseded on 3 September 2026. We publish each new cycle on its effective date. They are for flight simulation and reference only — not for real-world navigation.
