Approach and runway coverage

Waterloo Regional’s instrument coverage reaches all four ends of its two runways rather than favouring a single alignment. The eight approach plates provide a varied mix of ILS, RNAV (GPS), VOR and localiser procedures, including precision guidance alongside satellite-based and conventional options. Runway length is not concentrated in one strip: 18/36 exceeds 6,000 ft, while 12/30 provides almost 2,400 ft more.

Regional chart context

Nearby fields have much thinner published chart sets, with only three or four charts each; none approaches Waterloo’s breadth of terminal procedure coverage. The Chicago Sectional adds the wider visual-navigation context around Waterloo that the airport-specific instrument charts do not provide.
