Approach coverage

Austin Municipal’s single 5,800 ft runway has published approach coverage at both ends, so instrument procedures are not confined to one landing direction. The three IAP charts combine RNAV (GPS), ILS and localiser options, giving the field both satellite-based and ground-based approach coverage. With only one runway, however, there is no alternative alignment.

Nearby chart coverage

Rochester International has by far the broadest nearby procedure set, with 14 charts. Owatonna Degner Regional is closest to Austin Municipal in coverage, while Albert Lea Municipal, Dodge Center and Fillmore County each have slightly thinner sets. The Chicago, Green Bay and Omaha sectionals add broader VFR context beyond the airport-specific terminal procedures.
