Go PROGreen Bay and the Door Peninsula sit near the heart of a sheet spanning eastern Minnesota, most of Wisconsin, Michigan’s Upper Peninsula and the northern part of Lower Michigan. It also takes in broad reaches of Lakes Superior and Michigan, giving the chart a distinctive mixture of inland forest, glacial lake country and long Great Lakes shorelines. Southern areas become more open and agricultural, while the north is dominated by woodland, wetlands and exposed coast.
The Green Bay sheet forms the central link between several neighbouring coverage areas. Twin Cities continues westward, while Lake Huron carries the Upper Great Lakes coverage east. Routes leaving the southern edge pass onto Chicago; Detroit adjoins to the south-east, and Omaha meets the south-western side. This arrangement suits journeys crossing Wisconsin or Michigan as well as longer legs following the lakes, where shorelines, islands and large expanses of water remain defining visual features across chart boundaries.
