Beale’s single 12,001 ft runway has approaches to both ends, with ten procedures spanning ILS, localiser and RNAV (GPS) types. The four ILS procedures provide precision coverage, while the localiser and satellite-based procedures add further approach choices. With ten approaches but only one published departure procedure, the chart set is markedly weighted towards arrival coverage. The runway length also accommodates aircraft with substantial take-off and landing distance requirements.
Yuba County has the broadest nearby procedure set, though its six charts remain well short of Beale’s coverage. Lincoln Regional follows with five, while Auburn, Nevada County and Oroville have progressively thinner sets. The San Francisco Sectional adds the wider visual, landmark and airspace context absent from the airport-specific instrument procedures.
