Procedure coverage

Frankfort Clinton County Regional’s instrument set is tightly focused: both approaches are RNAV (GPS), and only two of the airport’s four runway ends receive an approach. GPS procedure coverage is therefore available in two directions, while the remaining two ends have no published approach.

Runways and surrounding coverage

At 5,000 ft, runway 09/27 provides almost twice the length of 2,527 ft 04/22, making the second alignment much more restrictive for aircraft requiring greater runway length. Among nearby fields, Indianapolis Executive has by far the broadest chart set; Purdue University and Crawfordsville Regional occupy the middle ground, while Sheridan and Delphi Municipal have similarly thin coverage. The Chicago, Cincinnati and St Louis sectionals add broad-area VFR context absent from the terminal procedures.
