Instrument procedure coverage

Indianapolis Executive’s single 7,001 ft runway has published approaches to both ends, rather than concentrating instrument access on one direction. The mix includes ILS, localiser, RNAV (GPS) and VOR procedures, providing both ground-based and satellite-based options. Six departure procedures against four approach plates give the chart set a noticeable departure emphasis. With only runway 18/36, however, there is no alternative runway alignment.

Nearby and VFR coverage

Indianapolis Metro and Eagle Creek Airpark have chart sets equal in size to Indianapolis Executive’s, while Indianapolis Regional is slightly broader. Indianapolis International has substantially more published procedures; Sheridan’s coverage is much thinner. The Chicago, Cincinnati and St Louis sectional charts add wider visual-navigation context beyond the airport-specific terminal procedures.
