Approaches concentrated on two ends

Fort Stockton-Pecos County has five runway alignments, but published approaches serve only two of the ten runway ends. Two RNAV (GPS) procedures and one VOR procedure provide both satellite-based and conventional coverage, concentrated on those ends rather than distributed across the field. No airport diagram is published.

Runway and regional context

Runway 12/30 is the only paved option longer than 4,400 ft, so aircraft requiring more paved length are confined to that alignment; the other three alignments are turf. Nearby procedure coverage is closely matched: Alpine-Casparis Municipal has a slightly broader set, while Roy Hurd Memorial, Pecos Municipal and Winkler County each have slightly fewer charts. The El Paso and San Antonio sectionals add broader VFR area context beyond the terminal procedures.

Common questions about KFST

What charts are available for KFST?

5 current FAA charts for Fort Stockton-Pecos County, including 3 instrument approachs. All are free to download as PDFs from this page, from the 6 August 2026 cycle.

What are the radio frequencies for KFST?

CTAF 122.8. Full civil VHF list, with sector notes, is in the frequencies table on this page — from the FAA NASR subscription.

How long is the runway at KFST?

Fort Stockton-Pecos County has 5 runways. The longest is 12/30 at 7,508 ft by 100 ft, asphalt. Full runway dimensions, lighting and approach aids are listed on this page.

Does KFST have an ILS approach?

No ILS is published. In total KFST has 3 published instrument approaches, of which 2 are RNAV (GPS).

Is KFST a towered airport?

No — Fort Stockton-Pecos County has no control tower. Traffic co-ordinates on a common frequency rather than with a controller, which is listed in the frequencies table on this page.

How many runways does KFST have?

5, which is why the chart set is as large as it is — each runway end that supports an instrument approach needs its own plates. The runway diagram on this page shows the layout to scale.

Are these KFST charts current?

They are from the FAA cycle effective 6 August 2026, which is superseded on 3 September 2026. We publish each new cycle on its effective date. They are for flight simulation and reference only — not for real-world navigation.
