Approach and runway coverage

Grand Junction Regional’s five approaches serve only two of its four runway ends, concentrating instrument coverage on selected directions rather than every alignment. The mix of one ILS, one localiser and three RNAV (GPS) procedures provides both precision and non-precision choices. Runway 11/29 is 3,838 ft longer than 04/22; any requirement exceeding 5,501 ft can therefore be met only on the longer alignment.

Regional chart context

Rifle Garfield County has a broader procedure set than Grand Junction, while Montrose Regional is relatively comparable. Blake Field, Hopkins Field and Rangely have much thinner chart coverage. The Denver Sectional adds broader VFR context beyond the airport-specific terminal procedures.
