Inyokern’s three-runway layout contrasts with an instrument set centred on a single RNAV (GPS) approach. It serves only one of the six runway ends, leaving the other five without a published instrument approach. Departure coverage is comparatively stronger, with both a DP and an ODP. Runway choice changes the available length substantially: the longest strip is 7,100 ft and the shortest 4,150 ft, a difference of 2,950 ft. No airport diagram is published for the three-runway layout.
China Lake and Edwards AFB have the broadest nearby chart sets, while Mojave and Fox offer intermediate coverage. California City’s set is as limited as Inyokern’s. The Las Vegas and Los Angeles sectionals add broader-area VFR context beyond the terminal procedures.
