Approach and runway coverage

Every end of Laramie Regional’s two runways has a published approach, giving the chart set balanced coverage across both alignments. The six procedures divide between four RNAV (GPS) and two VOR approaches. Runway 03/21 provides 2,202 ft more length than 12/30, while the 6,301 ft cross-runway still offers a substantial second alignment rather than a short auxiliary strip.

Regional chart context

Cheyenne Regional/Jerry Olson Field has chart coverage closest in scale to Laramie’s, while Northern Colorado Regional has a much broader procedure set. Shively Field is thinner, and Walden-Jackson County and Phifer Airfield thinner again. The Cheyenne Sectional adds the wider visual context around Laramie that the airport diagram and terminal procedures do not provide.

Common questions about KLAR

What charts are available for KLAR?

10 current FAA charts for Laramie Rgnl, including 6 instrument approachs, 1 airport diagram. All are free to download as PDFs from this page, from the 6 August 2026 cycle.

What are the radio frequencies for KLAR?

CTAF 123.05. Full civil VHF list, with sector notes, is in the frequencies table on this page — from the FAA NASR subscription.

How long is the runway at KLAR?

Laramie Rgnl has 2 runways. The longest is 03/21 at 8,503 ft by 150 ft, asphalt. Full runway dimensions, lighting and approach aids are listed on this page.

Does KLAR have an ILS approach?

No ILS is published. In total KLAR has 6 published instrument approaches, of which 4 are RNAV (GPS).

Where can I download the KLAR airport diagram?

The official FAA airport diagram for Laramie Rgnl is free to download at the top of this page. It shows runways, taxiways, ramp layout and hold-short positions, and is reissued every 28 days.

How high is KLAR?

The field elevation is 7,283 ft. At that height the air is thin enough to matter: take-off and landing distances are longer than the same aircraft would need at sea level, and the effect worsens as temperature rises. The approach charts carry the altitudes that apply.

Is KLAR a towered airport?

No — Laramie Rgnl has no control tower. Traffic co-ordinates on a common frequency rather than with a controller, which is listed in the frequencies table on this page.

Are these KLAR charts current?

They are from the FAA cycle effective 6 August 2026, which is superseded on 3 September 2026. We publish each new cycle on its effective date. They are for flight simulation and reference only — not for real-world navigation.
