Orcas Island’s three instrument approaches are all RNAV (GPS), and together serve both ends of runway 16/34. This provides an instrument procedure for either runway direction, but none based on another navigation type. With only one 2,901 ft runway, aircraft requiring more runway for take-off or landing cannot use another strip at the field.
Among nearby airports, Whidbey Island NAS and Bellingham International have substantially broader chart sets than Orcas Island. Friday Harbor and Skagit Regional have much thinner coverage, while Delaurentis has fewer charts still. The Seattle Sectional adds wider-area VFR context, including visual navigation information and the relationship between Orcas Island and surrounding airports, beyond the procedure-specific instrument charts.
